Education Philosophy
The desire to learn is intrinsic in all of us. Students must have the opportunity to study things that are meaningful and relevant to their life and interests. Developing a curriculum around a student’s interests fosters motivation and stimulates the desire to learn, with out discrimination of any kind.
Engage |
I endeavor to help students to develop a deep love and respect for themselves, others, and their environment. This occurs through an open sharing of ideas, of all ethnic backgrounds. When the voice of each student is heard in regular critique, an environment evolves where students feel free to express themselves. Students have a greater respect for their teachers, their peers, and the lessons presented when they feel comfortable and sure of what is expected of them.

Empower |
For myself, teaching provides an opportunity for continual learning and growth. It is my belief that art and design are important for the quality of life. The value of the Visual Arts is critical to the University Education. Through hands on demonstrations and critical feedback I strive to prepare students for personally meaningful careers. I enjoy the creative dialogue of mentoring students on their journey to acquiring higher education and analytical thinking. I am passionate about making art, and dedicated to teaching. I feel creativity is key to inspiring and empowering students.
One of my aspirations as an educator is to instill a lifelong love of learning. It is important for students to not only receive a solid education, but to work with someone who is aware of and sensitive to their individual needs. I am such a person and will always strive to be the best educator that I can be |
